• Steve helped us with a big renovation project of a 5 bedroom bungalow built in 1966, it is a massive project, involving replace the whole roof, put 4 new bedrooms upstairs, replace the old heating and electrical system, taking the old garage down and build a new one with an extension etc..
  He has always been highly praised and recommended by our friends who have worked with him before as a builder. We already know he will (and he did) deliver a good work / product at the end. He holds pride at what he is doing has very high standard for the service he provided. The scale of our renovation is vast and complicated, it took more than a year of dedicated work. We are very impressed by his consistency and reliability throughout the whole period. all of his staff are very polite and trustworthy, we had 3 young children who are all very happy among them, and we felt safe and secure when they are around. Steve was involved from the very beginning at the planning stage till the very end to make sure all works are completed to a high standard. He has kept us well informed every stage and is always available and happy to talk on the phone to answer quires. he has made the whole project possible and was a manager as well as a builder for the whole renovation. We lived inside the house during the entire period and thanks to Steve it was only possible because of his ability to work around family and being practical and flexible. He is a great team leader and was happy to liase with other service providers i.e. the kitchen suppliers etc.. (who are not under his firm) to make the process smooth and reduced a lot of stress for us. I highly praise this firm and I would always recommend them to everybody.

• We moved into our house a year ago knowing that the property would require extensive rebuilding and repairs to turn it into the house of our dreams and a family home that would work for us. We knew that choosing the building contractor would probably be the single most important decision we had to get right and we did just that. I appointed Steve in early February with the promise that work would start in the first week of August and it did on the exact day Steve stated it would. 6 months later the team left us with what was our dream family house. In what was a large project which had to overcome some shoddy previous building work and make extensive structural changes. From a new roof to changing nearly every room and rebuilding the back of the house, fitting kitchens, bathrooms, new electrics etc.
  
  All work was done to the highest standard of work and any problems were overcome quickly and Steve kept us informed all the way through the project. His planning was great. We moved out during the major parts of the work and had no hesitation in Steve and the team looking after our property which they did with no issues. Whilst we still lived there the team were considerate at all times of us and were great with our two young children. As I mentioned the most important part of any building work is getting the right builder, with George Hicks and Sons you will. I am happy to give any references or would be willing if required to show anyone the work the team did.

• George Hicks and Sons Ltd have just finished a large single story extension to the kitchen of our town house which is in the Victoria Street Conservation area. We chose Hicks on recommendation from others and for the fact that they understand old properties. The work was completed to the highest of standards and attention to detail is superb - although the extension is large and contemporary, it blends naturally into the house. Steve and the rest of the boys are lovely to deal with; always pleasant, utterly professional and unbelievably tidy!!! The disruption to our lives was minimal and the neighbours made constant remarks as to how nice they all were! We would recommend them completely - everyone is commenting about how stunning our kitchen is, and it is all down to them - they were great!
